Helen Cross

Helen Cross - Core Process Psychotherapy

Helen has completed four years of training in psychotherapy and is currently a senior MA student at the Karuna Institute in Devon. She has been involved in counselling and psychotherapy since 1986.

"I began exploring many years ago, when I was looking for something to help me through a difficult time after a relationship ended. I found counselling very helpful, and became fascinated by how it worked. I got involved in voluntary counselling work and then went on to do a course in Person-Centred counselling at the Jesmond Centre, in Newcastle.

More recently, I was going through some big changes in my life and wanted some support. I chose to work with a Core Process Psychotherapist and found that this opened up new possibilities and enabled me to move forward in ways I hadn't imagined before. It has been a real privilege to have the chance to train to do this work myself."

The Karuna Institute psychotherapy training is nationally recognised and accredited by the UKCP. (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy.)

Practical Information

Individual sessions last one hour and usually take place weekly.

I offer a free introductory meeting in which we can discuss the work and how it might be helpful. If we agree that we would like to work together, then we can arrange a trial period of six sessions.

While I complete my training, sessions are offered at a reduced rate. Some negotiation may be possible.

Confidentiality and safety are paramount. Core Process Psychotherapists are bound by the Codes of Ethics and Professional Standards of the UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) and the Karuna Institute. My work is fully supervised and insured.
