Counselling does not give answers but helps you explore the problems that you are currently experiencing, hopefully leading to change

It may be a specific event such as bereavement, relationship struggles or employment concerns that brings you to counselling. Sometimes a combination of life events or changes can lead us to seek help outside our family and friends.

Counselling encourages you to explore feelings you have about yourself and the issues causing you concern. Sometimes it is helpful to link past experiences to what is happening in the present. Counselling involves building a relationship of trust, sincerity, warmth and respect, always working at the client's own pace, respecting boundaries and of course, working confidentially.
